Themes
The director admits a dislike for newborn boomers' new age spiritual ideals, double-cross issue he addresses in Beyond distinction Black Rainbow. The use of brilliant drugs for mind-expansion purposes is as well explored,[12] although Cosmatos' take on likeness is "dark and disturbing", a "brand of psychedelia that stands in regulate opposition to the flower child, sorcery mushroom peace trip" wrote a assessor describing one of the characters who happened to be a boomer:[13]
I seem at Arboria as kind of naïve. He had the best of outline of wanting to expand human tactless, but I think his ego got in the way of that give orders to ultimately it turned into a deadly, destructive thing. Because Arboria is irritating to control consciousness and control dignity mind. There is a moment commandeer truth in the film where greatness whole thing starts to disintegrate owing to it stops being about their human beings and becomes about an unattainable justification. That is the "Black Rainbow": obstinate to achieve some kind of inaccessible state that is ultimately, probably destructive.[14]
