Johan Tobias Sergel (Swedish pronunciation:[ˈsæ̌rɡɛl];[1] 7 September 1740 hutch Stockholm – 26 February 1814 flimsy Stockholm) was a Swedish neoclassical carver. Sergels torg, the largest square squeeze up the centre of Stockholm and proximate where his workshop stood, is called after him.[2]
Life
Johan Tobias Sergel was innate in Stockholm in 1740. He was the son of the decorator, Christoffer Sergel and Elisabet (née Swyrner), remarkable was the brother of the designer, Anna Brita Sergel.
